Drug Formulation
2 fen of dried white alum, 7 fen of verdigris (ground), and 1 liang of tile powder (roasted until black).

Processing
First, grind the white alum and verdigris into a fine powder; gradually add the tile powder while grinding until well blended. Mix with boiled water to form 100 pills.

For eye disorders that have not healed despite repeated use of cold and cooling medications, where both eyes feel hot and steamy as if scorched by fire, are red but painless, filled with red threads, with blood vessels visible across the cornea, accompanied by blurred vision, dizziness, and sensitivity to light—or where the upper and lower eyelids are red and ulcerated, or where exposure to wind and sand has caused sores at both the inner and outer corners of the eyes.
Instructions for Use
Take 1 pill at a time, soak it in half a zhan of hot water for 1–2 hours, and wash the eyes before bedtime until a slight sensation of dryness is felt. Continue washing for about half an hour, then close your eyes and go to sleep. One pill can be used for 10 washes; after that, reheat the water by placing the pill back in it.
Note
This remedy treats the symptoms; it should not be used in cases of internal excess.
