Chinese Name : 乌犀角膏
Drug Formulation
2 soapberry pods (crushed; soak in 3 sheng of water for 1 hour; strain to remove residue; transfer to a earthenware vessel and simmer into a paste), 1 he of fine wine, 1 qian of flame-refined saltpeter, 1 qian of herb ash, 1 qian of ginseng (ground into powder), a small amount of borax, and a small amount of white plum ash.

Instructions for Use
Mix the ingredients thoroughly. Using a goose feather, apply a small amount to the throat until all stubborn phlegm is expelled. Then chew 2 cun of licorice root and swallow the juice. For a “wooden tongue,” first wipe the tongue with a coarse cloth dipped in water to cool it, then rub it with a slice of ginger, and finally apply the medicine.
