Drug Formulation
5 sheng of buckwheat (wash to remove ash, sun-dry, grind, sift to remove coarse husks, and retain only the pure flour), 2 liang of makeup rouge (made by decocting and dyeing cotton cocoons with su mu, madder, safflower, and black plum).

Boil the “painting-edge” rouge to extract its liquid, then grind the buckwheat into pills the size of a tung tree seed.
