4 liang of Green Tangerine Peel, 4 liang of Aged Tangerine Peel, 4 liang of Eupatorium, 4 liang of Acorus, 4 liang of Poria, 4 liang of Evodia, 4 liang of Atractylodes, 4 liang of Cyperus, 2 liang of Coptis, 2 liang of Aloe, 1 liang of Chinese Coptis, 1 liang of Cnidium, 1 liang of Wood Fragrance, 1 qian of Musk (ground separately).

Processing

Coarsely crush the ingredients and place them inside the abdomen of a male pig; if one pig’s abdomen is not large enough to hold all the ingredients, use two. Sew the opening shut with thread. Simmer in a sandpot with wine and vinegar until the contents are thoroughly softened and mushy, then remove. Chop the pig’s abdomen into small pieces, mix with the herbs, and grind finely in a mortar and pestle. Dry in the sun, then grind into a fine powder. Mix evenly with musk, and use the decoction to form pills the size of millet grains.
