Drug Formulation

2 liang of Polygonum cuspidatum root, 1 liang of white tribulus, 1 liang of aconite root (peeled and with the pith removed), 1 liang of angelica pubescens,1 liang of rhino horn shavings, 2 liang of rose root, 1 liang of white angelica, 1 liang of saposhnikovia root, 1 liang of sophora root, 1 liang of Sichuan cimicifuga, 1 liang of lo-lu, 1 liang of Chinese strophanthus, 1 liang of Sichuan pepper, 1 liang of wood fragrant, 1 liang of snake-bite grass, 1 liang of cnidium, 1 liang of trichosanthes peel, and 1 liang of mangcao.

Processing

All ingredients are used raw; chop them finely, soak them in high-quality vinegar until fully submerged overnight, and the next morning, place them in a copper, stone, or silver pot. Simmer over low heat with 2.5 jin of lard refined in the 12th lunar month until Angelica dahurica turns reddish and a paste forms. Strain out the residue and store the paste in a porcelain jar.
