Drug Formulation
Ginseng (stem removed), Asparagus root (core removed), Ophiopogon tuber (core removed), Raw Rehmannia root (washed with wine), Prepared Rehmannia root (washed with wine), Angelica root (washed with wine), Lotus stamen, Polygonum multiflorum (equal parts red and white), Sophora japonica pods (those harvested in the third lunar month are best)—each in equal parts.

Processing
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take one black, healthy ox gallbladder from the twelfth lunar month, fill it with the herbal powder, and suspend it in a cool, shaded place for 49 days before removing it.
Instructions for Use
Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with white liquor on an empty stomach; if the bitterness is intolerable, form the powder into pills the size of a Paulownia seed using the ox bile as the binder. Take 50 pills per dose, washed down with white liquor on an empty stomach.
Note
Avoid contact with iron utensils; strictly abstain from sexual activity, radishes, and spicy foods.
