Chaihu Mangxiao Decoction,This condition arises from an excess of the Three Yang Qi, which is stagnant in the meridians and internally affects the zang-fu organs, or may result from other illnesses leading to a febrile syndrome. The fever persists without abating, being particularly severe in the late afternoon. The patient breathes heavily with a bubbling sound, is deaf, experiences frequent drowsiness during the day, speaks incoherently while sleeping, craves cold, has red and scanty urine, suffers from constipation, and exhibits a short, rapid, and frequent pulse.

Formulas Name : Chaihu Mangxiao Decoction

Chinese Name : 柴胡芒消汤

Drug Formulation

4 liang of Bupleurum (washed, stems removed), 1.5 liang of Scutellaria, 1.5 liang of licorice (fried), 1.5 liang of red Poria, 1 liang and 1 fen of Pinellia (washed 7 times in boiling water).

Instructions for Use

Take 5 qian per dose. Add 5 slices of fresh ginger and 2 jujubes (split open) to 2 zhan of water, decoct until reduced to 1 zhan, strain out the residue, add 1 qian of sodium carbonate, stir well, and take while warm. Continue until bowel movements return to normal.
