Drug Formulation
2 liang Coptis, half a liang Phellodendron, half a liang Scutellaria, half a liang Rhubarb, half a liang Raw Rehmannia, half a liang Red Peony, half a liang Sichuan Pepper, half a liang Apricot Kernel, half a liang White Angelica, half a liang Cinnamon, half a liang Pig’s-tooth Soapberry, half a liang Angelica Root Tails,7 scallion whites, a fistful of cleaned hair, 3 qian of locust tree twigs, 3 qian of willow twigs, 3 qian of elm twigs, 3 qian of mulberry twigs, 3 qian of gardenia twigs, 3 qian of cypress twigs, and 3 qian of peach twigs.

Processing
Use 2 jin of genuine sesame oil; soak for 5 days in spring, 3 days in summer, 7 days in fall, and 10 days in winter.Simmer in a clay pot until it turns slightly black; strain out the residue; add 4 liang of pine resin and 10 liang of finely ground and sifted orpiment; simmer with the medicinal oil until it forms a paste that does not disperse when a drop is placed in water; then add the following ingredients: frankincense, myrrh, natron, dragon bone, calcined alum, and dragon’s blood—half liang each; mercury oxide, bismuth subchloride, and musk—1 qian each. Grind all into a fine powder and mix into the paste.Store in a clean porcelain container and spread onto paper immediately.
