Formulas Name : Poultice for Malignant Sores

Chinese Name : 恶疮锭子

Drug Formulation

1 qian of Xin, 5 fen of musk, 5 fen of Angelica sinensis root tip, 5 fen of Euphrasia, 1 qian of toad venom, 1 qian of Aconitum carmichaeli, 2 qian of mercury oxide, 1 qian of Aconitum carmichaeli (Sichuan variety), 5 fen of borax, 1 qian of dragon’s blood, 2 whole scorpions, 1 qian of arsenic trioxide, 5 fen of copper patina, 5 fen of silver vermilion, realgar.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Mix the toad venom with human milk to form a paste, shape it into a pellet the size of a barley grain, and divide it into two portions—one for each patient.

Instructions for Use

Pierce the ulcer with a needle until blood appears; insert the medicated granules into the wound, cover with paper, and leave in place until pus forms inside; then remove the medication and wash the area clean.
