Drug Formulation

1 rooster (weighing 1 jin, 3–4 liang. Take a piece of blood from the spine—known as “chicken lung”—and grind it together with the lungs and the following ingredients until smooth), 3 fen of cinnabar (finely ground), 3 li of borneol (finely ground).

Grind all ingredients together until as fine as a paste; simmer in ash-free wine until boiling, then stir until well blended.
