Drug Formulation

Northern Schisandra berries 1 liang, Poria cocos 1 liang, Aconite root 1 liang, Agarwood 1 liang, Dragon’s Bone 1 liang, Cistanche (soaked in wine overnight; if unavailable, substitute with Cistanche fried in deer antler butter) 1 liang, Amomum seed 0.5 liang, Cypress seed (shelled, roasted) 0.5 liang, Psoralea seed (roasted) 0.5 liang,half liang of jujube seeds (shelled and roasted), half liang of golden bell seeds (pitted and roasted), half liang of red chili peppers (seeds removed), half liang of angelica root (soaked in wine), half liang of Sichuan barberry (core removed), and one and a half liang of dodder seeds (soaked in wine and ground together).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; form into pills the size of a Paulownia seed using a wine paste as the binder; coat with 3 qian of cinnabar powder.
