Chinese Name : 凉顶散

Drug Formulation

Chuanxiong 1 liang, Peppermint 1 liang, Curcuma 1 liang, Potassium Carbonate 1.5 liang, Frankincense 3 qian (adding Borneol is even better).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder.

Benefits

For red, painful, and swollen eyes, or when a foreign body causes a corneal opacity.

Instructions for Use

Sniff it through the nose. Next, grind Coptis into a powder, decoct it into a concentrated decoction, and while still hot, soak a cloth in it to apply as a compress over the eye, allowing half a qian of the liquid to seep in. A bitter taste will be felt in the mouth; the pain will subside on its own, and the cloudiness will gradually clear.
