Decoction for Leprosy-Type Wind

Chinese Name : 疠风丸
Drug Formulation
1 dried toad, 3 qian of white arsenic, 2 qian of copper patina, 2 qian of Ren Zhong Bai.

Processing
Grind the ingredients into a powder, pack it into the toad’s mouth, sew it shut with thread, wrap it in mud, and calcine over a fire until the smoke has completely dissipated. Remove it, wash off the mud—leaving approximately 5 qian—and combine with 1 liang each of Sophora flavescens and Sedum sarmentosum. Form into pills using Shenqu paste, each the size of a Paulownia seed.

Severe leprosy.
Instructions for Use
Take 5 fen per dose, washed down with either boiling water or a decoction of ephedra and wine. Five Types of Death and Their Corresponding Medicines: For “Spleen Death” (numbness and loss of sensation), take with Atractylodes Decoction; for “Blood Death” (pus forming on the hands and feet), take with Raw Rehmannia Decoction; for “Flesh Death” (no pain upon cutting), take with Sophora Root Decoction; for “Tendon Death” (hands and feet falling off), take with Dipsacus Decoction; for “Kidney Death” (holes in the soles of the feet), take with Coix Seed and Achyranthes Decoction.
