Drug Formulation

3 liang of Scrophularia root, 2 liang of Scutellaria root, 2 liang of willow twigs, 2 liang of locust twigs, 2 liang of Angelica root, and 1 liang of frankincense.

Processing

Use 1 jin of sesame oil; simmer the herbs over low heat until the mixture turns black, then strain out the residue. Add 4 liang of orpiment, sift it through a fine sieve, and continue simmering until the mixture turns black and does not disperse when a drop is placed in water.

Instructions for Use

Apply cold on a piece of paper and affix to the affected area. Use half a jin of sesame oil; the total ingredients amount to 6 liang. Use 3 liang of orpiment in summer, 2.5 liang in winter, and 2 liang 8 qian in spring and autumn.
