Drug Formulation

3 fen of sour pomegranate peel (roasted until charred, then chopped), 3 fen of Coptis (stems removed, chopped, and lightly roasted), and 3 fen of red cinnabar.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder. Decoct in 2 sheng of water until reduced to 5 he; strain out the residue, add 1 liang of beeswax, and boil for another 3–5 boils.
