Drug Formulation
3 liang of raw rehmannia root (select large, round roots; place them in a new iron pot, calcine over a charcoal fire until thoroughly red-hot; use tongs to remove the pot from the fire, then quickly pour in 2 sheng of vinegar; let cool, then grind into a fine powder),Cinnabar 5 liang (genuine cinnabar: rinse thoroughly with water, drain well, place in a raw iron pot with 3 liang of Yu Yuliang; boil with 2 sheng of strong vinegar until the vinegar evaporates; then, along with the pot, calcine over a charcoal fire until red-hot; immediately place on clean ground to cool, then grind into a fine powder), Qianghuo half a liang, Frankincense (roasted) half a liang,half liang of Poria cocos (peeled), half liang of Achyranthes root (stems removed, soaked in wine overnight, then oven-dried), half liang of Ligusticum chuanxiong, half liang of cardamom (roasted), half liang of imported anise, half liang of Curcuma zedoaria (roasted), half liang of Atractylodes macrocephala (roasted),Cinnamon Bark (peeled) half liang, Dried Ginger (processed) half liang, Green Tangerine Peel (white pith removed, stir-fried) half liang, Beijing Sanleng (stir-fried) half liang, Dried Tangerine Peel (white pith removed) half liang, White Tribulus half liang, Aconite Root (processed) half liang, Angelica Root (root hairs removed, soaked, stir-fried) half liang.

Processing
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; mix with steamed buns soaked in hot water to form pills the size of a tung seed.

Instructions for Use
Take 30 pills per dose on an empty stomach or before meals, washed down with warm wine or plain hot water. Both the weak and robust may use the full dosage; robust individuals should reduce the dose by half. Once the condition has been eliminated through urination, take one dose daily, and subsequently use mild, harmonizing herbs to regulate qi and tonify the spleen, stomach, and blood and qi.
Note
Avoid salt for several months.
