Formulas Name : Neem Fruit Ointment

Chinese Name : 苦楝子膏

Drug Formulation

40% Sichuan melia fruit, 60% lard (pork fat).

Processing

First, roast Sichuan melia fruit until golden brown (do not over-roast; it should be just enough to be ground into a fine powder), grind into a fine powder, and mix with lard to form a paste-like ointment.

Benefits

For scalp ringworm characterized by intense itching, with blood clots or pus-filled scabs.

Instructions for Use

First, shave off any remaining hair on the patient’s head. Then, wash the scalp with alum water to remove blood and pus crusts. Apply the Sichuan Melia ointment to the affected area and rub it in vigorously. Change the dressing once daily or every other day; each time, wash the scalp with alum water to thoroughly remove old oil residue.

Note

Do not use bandages or wear a hat after applying the ointment, so as not to hinder the growth of new muscle tissue.
