Drug Formulation
100 liang of gold, 3 jin of cold-water stone, 3 jin of gypsum, 10 liang of rhinoceros horn (shavings), 10 liang of antelope horn (shavings), 1 jin of Scrophularia root, 5 liang of agarwood (chipped), 5 liang of wood fragrant, 5 liang of cloves, 8 liang of licorice, and 6 liang of Cimicifuga root (all coarsely crushed).

Processing
Add 5 dou of water to the ingredients and boil until the volume is reduced to 3 dou; remove the gold and discard it. Add the remaining herbs and simmer until the volume is reduced to 1 dou. Strain out the residue, then add 2.5 jin of high-quality sodium carbonate. Simmer over low heat, stirring continuously with a willow wood spatula. When the mixture begins to set, pour it into a basin. Add 3 liang each of ground cinnabar and genuine musk, and stir vigorously until well blended. Allow to cool, then store in an airtight container, protecting it from drafts.

Instructions for Use
Take 1 qian per dose, dissolved in warm water; for children, half a qian (1 zi); in cases of critical throat conditions, pinch a small amount and swallow it dry.
