Drug Formulation

2 liang of Indian saffron, 2 liang of human-center saffron, 1 liang of dried silkworm (with silk and mouth removed), 1 liang of whole scorpion (with tail and hook removed), 1 liang of Fangfeng, 1 liang of Jingjie, and 1 qian of musk.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, mix with water to form pills the size of a paulownia seed, and coat them with cinnabar.

Benefits

At the onset of epidemic fever with swelling, accompanied by chills and shivering; a lump resembling a boil inside the lips; pain behind the ears; diarrhea; shortness of breath and vomiting; pain and numbness in the muscles and bones; or faint and fine pulses in all six positions.

Instructions for Use

Take slightly more than 10 pills per dose; for milder cases, 7–8 pills; for young children, 3–4 pills. Take with ginger tea or Agastache tea.

Note

Do not lie down after taking the medicine. Contraindicated for pregnant women.
