Drug Formulation

8 liang of Strychnos nux-vomica, 30 Sichuan centipedes, 3 qian of pollen, 3 qian of Northern Asarum, 1 qian of cattail pollen, 1 qian of Angelica dahurica, 0.5 fen of Lithospermum, 0.5 fen of turtle shell slices, 0.5 fen of realgar.

Processing

Boil the Strychnos nux-vomica in water to remove the skin and hair; add 10 liang of sesame oil and the aforementioned herbs, then decoct until the mixture turns dry and black. Remove the dregs, then add the Strychnos nux-vomica and fry until it turns a light yellow color—do not let it burn to a charcoal black—then remove and grind into a fine powder.

Instructions for Use

Take 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 fen per dose, washed down with aged wine. Adjust the dosage according to the patient’s age, stature, and physical condition.
