Drug Formulation

Black beans 5 sheng (cooked in yellow wine in an earthenware pot until tender, then sun-dried), Gushi 1 jin (stir-fried in salt water), goji berries 1 jin (stir-fried in wine), dodder seeds 1 jin (thoroughly boiled in wine), Sichuan pepper 8 liang (remove any with closed buds. First, clean a patch of ground; heat it red-hot over a charcoal fire, douse it with water, place the pepper on the ground, cover with a porcelain bowl, and leave overnight before use).

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder; mix with wine paste to form pills the size of a paulownia seed.
