Drug Formulation
1 liang of Xiang Da Huang, 1 liang of Pu Xiao, 5 qian of water-side red flower seeds (i.e., large-leaf smartweed seeds found near water), and 3 qian of impatiens seeds.

Instructions for Use
Take 1 white duck, remove feathers and impurities, and ensure no water remains. Place the herbs inside the duck’s abdomen and sew it closed with thread. Place the duck and 2 jin of ash-free liquor in a clay pot, cover the pot with its lid, and seal the opening with dough. Simmer first over high heat, then reduce to low heat. Open the pot to turn the duck, and continue cooking until the liquid has evaporated. Return to low heat,turning it frequently until it turns golden brown. Open the pot, remove the herbs, and wipe the duck’s abdomen clean with a fresh piece of blue cloth. Divide into 3–4 doses.
