Chinese Name : 生葛根三味汤

Drug Formulation

1 piece of raw Pueraria root (1 chi long, 3 cun in diameter), 1 he of fresh ginger juice, and 2 da sheng of bamboo sap (if unavailable, use 1 da sheng of sliced bamboo root [Zhu Jin]).Use 1 da dou of water and gently simmer to reduce to 2 da sheng to substitute for the bamboo sap; if bamboo root is unavailable, use 1 da sheng of finely chopped bamboo leaves (Zhu Jin), add 1 da dou of water, and simmer as described above to reduce to 2 da sheng to substitute for the bamboo sap; if bamboo leaves are unavailable, use 1 da sheng of finely chopped bamboo shoots, add 1 da dou of water, and simmer to reduce to 2 da sheng as a substitute).

Instructions for Use

For the above formula, first take fresh Pueraria root, wash and scrub it clean, then pound it until extremely fine and powdery. Squeeze out all the juice; pound it again, then sprinkle bamboo sap over it and squeeze out the juice thoroughly. Once the juice is exhausted, pound it again and repeat the sprinkling and squeezing process as many times as necessary until all the juice and powder from the Pueraria root have been extracted. Filter the mixture through cotton using ginger juice.Take it in small, slow doses as needed, both before and after meals. If rumbling sounds occur in the abdomen, accompanied by pain, take it warm after a meal. After continuing this treatment for 7 days, begin taking the Ten-Ingredient Aconite Decoction.
