Drug Formulation

Xuan Huanglian (with stalks removed) 4 liang, Fresh Ginger (stir-fried with Huanglian, including the skin) 4 liang, Cardamom (wrapped in flour and slow-roasted) 2 liang, Angelica sinensis (with root base removed) 2 liang, Poppy Capsules 3 liang (with tops, stems, and seeds removed; stir-fried with honey), Dried Ginger (roasted and washed) 1 liang, Ejiao (chopped and stir-fried with wheat bran until pearl-like) 1 liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take 49 jujubes and 4 liang of sliced ginger; soak them together with the jujubes in water in a silver cauldron. Boil until the liquid has evaporated, then remove the jujubes, peel and pit them, and pound them into a paste. Form this paste into pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 50 pills per dose, washed down with rice water on an empty stomach.
