Drug Formulation

He Shou Wu (avoid iron utensils), black mulberry fruit, raw Rehmannia root, and Eclipta prostrata (all four ingredients must be fresh and pounded in a stone mortar); extract half a jin of juice from each. Add half a jin of deer antler gelatin, half a jin of ginger juice, half a jin of white honey, and 4 liang of Polygonatum (steamed and sun-dried nine times),4 liang of ginseng, 4 liang of white poria, 4 liang of fennel, 4 liang of goji berries, 4 liang of deer antler powder, and 1 liang of Sichuan pepper (all ground into a fine powder).

Processing

Except for the honey, which is prepared separately, boil the other ingredients together until they form a paste. Just before it becomes a paste, add the honey and stir thoroughly. Then add the powdered mixture of the six herbs (including ginseng) and mix well again. Store in a new porcelain jar.

Instructions for Use

Take 2–3 spoonfuls at any time, mixed with warm wine; in summer, mix with plain hot water.
