Drug Formulation

Fetal membranes (do not use those from the second or eighth month; they must be collected while still containing the “Zhongyuan blood.” Wash thoroughly under running water, drain well, and place in a porcelain jar. Add 3 large cups of ash-free liquor, along with borneol and musk according to one’s means—up to 1 qian or half a zi. Seal the jar’s mouth with paper and calcine over a gentle, steady flame.until the wine is nearly consumed; then remove it, add another 3 zhan of wine, and calcine as before. Stir continuously with a bamboo or gold/silver whisk until it becomes a porridge-like paste. Allow to cool, transfer to a sand mortar, and grind finely into a powder. (Add the external ingredients separately): 2 liang of ginseng,2 liang of Poria, half a liang of Frankincense, half a liang of Cinnabar (washed with water, air-dried, and purified), and 4 liang of Chinese Yam (grind the above ingredients into a fine powder and add them to the decoction; if the mixture becomes too dry, gradually add more of the original calcination wine).

Instructions for Use

Take 50 pills daily on an empty stomach, gradually increasing to 100 pills, and swallow them with warm wine or salted broth. After a while, eat a light, sweet meal to settle the stomach, and reduce the consumption of five types of meat dishes each day.
