Drug Formulation
Castor beans (remove skin and tips, then pound into a paste) 49 seeds; apricot kernels (remove skin, then pound into a paste) 49 kernels; verdigris 2 liang 7 qian (using 1 bowl of water, grind the verdigris into a fine powder, add it to the water, and stir until well mixed); pine resin flakes 5 jin (ground into a fine powder).

Processing
Heat 12 liang of genuine sesame oil in a pot until boiling; then add the castor seeds and apricot kernels, and simmer until the mixture reaches a consistency where a drop of oil forms a bead when held up. Strain out the residue through a hemp cloth, return the oil to a clean pot, and bring it to a boil over alternating low and high heat.gradually add the ground rosin, stirring continuously with peach or locust branches until well blended. Pour into a porcelain basin; wait until the ointment begins to set, then add water to soak it, and knead and stretch it by hand to remove the heat toxicity. Store in a separate porcelain jar or tungwood ladle for several months.
