Using the method for brewing wine, fill a pot with water and suspend the jar of herbs within it. Simmer over a fire fueled by mulberry wood or, alternately, pine wood for 5 days and nights. Maintain a gentle heat and continuously replenish the urine as it evaporates. Simmer until the mixture is completely dry. After the full 5 days, remove the jar and rinse the cinnabar pouch with warm water more than 10 times. Then soak the cinnabar in fresh warm water for half a day; discard the herbal residue.
