Chinese Name : 葛根加半夏汤

Drug Formulation

4 liang of Pueraria root, 3 liang of Ephedra (knots removed), 2 liang of licorice (roasted), 2 liang of peony root, 2 liang of cinnamon twig (bark removed), 2 liang of fresh ginger (sliced), half a sheng of Pinellia (washed), and 12 jujubes (split).

Instructions for Use

Add 1 dou of water to the pot; first boil the kudzu root and ephedra until the liquid is reduced by 2 sheng, skim off the white foam, then add the remaining herbs. Boil until 3 sheng of liquid remains, strain out the residue, and take 1 sheng while warm. Cover the patient to induce a light sweat.
