Drug Formulation

300 g of Jin Gang Lian, 300 g of licorice, 250 g of Angelica sinensis, 250 g of Acanthopanax bark, 180 g of Chuanxiong, 180 g of Lithospermum root, 90 g of Sanleng, 90 g of Curcuma zedoaria, 90 g of Safflower,Zhike 90 g, Qingpi 90 g, Jianxieqing 120 g, Hongmaoteng root 120 g, Guizhi 150 g, Daxueteng 60 g, white liquor 30 kg.

Processing

All of the above herbs are prepared as decocted slices. Place them in a large, lidded vat, add 20 kg of white liquor, seal tightly, and steep for one week. Filter through cheesecloth and transfer to a separate, sealed vat for storage. Re-steep the remaining residue in 10 kg of white liquor for one week, then filter through cheesecloth as before. Combine the two steeped solutions and set aside for later use.This liquid is a clear, brownish-red solution with a faintly fragrant aroma and a sweet, pleasant taste.
