Drug Formulation
14 seeds of croton, 7 fen of Coptis (use with the bark; one formula adds 1 qian of powdered rhubarb).

Grind the ingredients into a powder.

In cases of cold-induced chest constriction where the pulse is floating and purgation is contraindicated; if purgation is administered, death is certain.
Instructions for Use
Mix the ingredients with saliva to form a paste, apply it just below the navel, and moxibustion with moxa cones on top. When sounds are heard from the abdomen, the illness has been resolved; the number of moxa cones used is not restricted—stop once the illness is gone. Immediately after moxibustion, soak a handkerchief in warm water and press it against the area to prevent blisters.
