Drug Formulation

4 liang of raw lacquer, 4 liang of realgar (ground separately), 4 liang of soapberry thorns, 3 qian of toad venom, and 3 qian of musk (ground separately).

Processing

Using 3 sheng of water, first add the soapberry thorns and boil down to 1 sheng; strain out the residue, then add the lacquer. Simmer until it resembles 80% of a silver flower; wait until all the lacquer foam has subsided and the liquid has evaporated to the point where it no longer sticks to your hands, then remove from heat. Add the realgar, musk, and toad venom, and grind evenly with a wooden mallet to form pills the size of mung beans.

Instructions for Use

Take 50 pills per dose, washed down with hot wine at noon and at dawn. Suitable for people with a “Wood” constitution. For those with body sores accompanied by hoarseness, immediately crush a raw crab to extract its juice and drink it frequently; also apply the juice to the affected area to alleviate the condition.
