Li Ji Ointment,When primordial yang is depleted and fire fails to generate earth, cold in the stomach leads to diaphragmatic obstruction; or cold in the spleen causes loose stools, diarrhea, edema, and bloating; or deficiency-cold in kidney qi results in heavy pain in the lower back and spine,constant coldness in the abdomen, navel, legs, and feet; or kidney qi decline, resulting in penile atrophy and cold semen; or seminal leakage upon the slightest touch; or frequent urination at night, severe cases presenting with a cold bladder, incontinence, cold dysuria, cold hernia, or conditions involving the loss of essence and spirit.In women: a cold uterus; or uncontrollable heavy uterine bleeding accompanied by a cold body, weak vital energy, and impending loss of yang; or deficiency-cold in the Chong and Ren meridians, manifesting as purely white leukorrhea; or chronic leukorrhea with cold pain in the navel and abdomen, a sensation below the waist as if sitting on ice and snow, and a decline in the true qi of the Three Yang meridians. In children: chronic spleen wind.

Processing

Use a total of 24 jin of oil for these ingredients; simmer them separately, then combine with deer antler oil and simmer further to form the elixir.Then add 4 liang each of purified rosin, toseng, and red tallow; 2 liang of calcined yangqishi; and 1 liang each of realgar, calcined alum, wood fragrant, sandalwood, cloves, cassia bark, processed frankincense, and processed myrrh. Steam 4 liang of ox glue with wine until dissolved, following the method for preparing Qingyang Ointment. (One variation includes Japanese sulfur that has been boiled with duckweed.)
