Half a qian of dried mugwort leaves (burned to ash, then stir-fried), half a qian of Coptis (stems removed, ground into a fine powder, then stir-fried).

Processing

Place the above herbs in a new porcelain vessel, steep in boiling water free of oil until the consistency is just right, then submerge in fresh water until it is extremely cold. Add one ancient blue copper coin and let it steep for two hours.

Instructions for Use

Before going to sleep, lie on your back and use the ancient coin dipped in the medicine to apply it to the eyes. When you taste bitterness in your mouth, it indicates the remedy is taking effect.
