Drug Formulation

Ephedra 5 liang (knots removed), Pueraria root 4 liang, Gardenia fruit 20 pieces (split open), scallions (chopped) 1 sheng, fermented black beans 1 sheng (wrapped in cotton).

Instructions for Use

Coarsely chop the ingredients. Add 8 sheng of water; first boil the ephedra and kudzu root for 2–3 boils, skim off the foam, then add the remaining herbs. Decoct until reduced to 2 sheng and 5 he, strain out the residue, and divide into 3 doses. After taking each dose, wait a distance equivalent to walking 5–6 li before taking the next dose. If sweating does not occur, induce sweating again; afterward, dust the body with talcum powder.

Note

Avoid exposure to wind and all hot foods.
