Drug Formulation
1 liang of mercury, 5 qian of crushed cinnabar, 5 qian of real realgar, 3 qian of sulfur, and 1 qian of white alum.

Processing
Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, place it in a Yangcheng jar, cover it with an iron lid, seal it with mud mixed with salt brine, secure it tightly with iron wire, and use 10 jin of silver charcoal. Start with a gentle flame and gradually increase to a strong flame; stop when three sticks of incense have burned.Remove the jar, allow it to cool completely, then open it. The medicine remaining in the iron cup will weigh approximately 2 liang and 7 qian. For cases of a sore throat caused by a “Yangmei” sore, use 5 fen of this potent remedy, add 8 fen each of Ren Zhong Bai and Qing Dai, 5 fen each of Frankincense and Myrrh, and 2 fen of Borneol,1 fen of musk, and 1 fen 5 li of medicinal pearls. Grind all ingredients into a fine powder and blow it into the throat 5–6 times a day; complete recovery will occur within three days. For sores in the mouth or nose, add an additional 5 fen each of dragon bone, elephant skin, dragon’s blood, and catechu, along with 2 fen of amber, and grind into a fine powder.
