Drug Formulation

Xiangfu 1 jin (combined with 2 liang of mugwort; soaked in vinegar for two nights; divided into four portions: one portion stir-fried in salt water, one portion stir-fried with ghee, one portion soaked in a child’s urine and then stir-fried, and one portion stir-fried on a clay tile mixed with milk), Angelica sinensis root (washed with wine) 5 liang,Chuanxiong 2 liang, White Peony Root 8 liang (soaked in wine, sliced, half raw and half roasted), Raw Rehmannia Root 6 liang (washed with wine), Ejiao 4 liang (roasted with clam powder until pearl-like; if unavailable, substitute with deer antler gelatin),Zhi Ke 3 liang (Jiangxi variety is best; half raw, half roasted), Ai 2 liang (made into cakes by mixing with vinegar-soaked Xiang Fu, then sun-dried), Qing Hao Zi 3 liang, Shan Zhu Yu Rou 3 liang, Yin Chai Hu 1 liang, Wu Wei Zi 3 liang, Bie Jia (roasted with vinegar according to standard method) 4 liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; mix with a paste made from rice vinegar and Chinese yam powder to form pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 4 qian per dose, swallowed with plain vinegar water on an empty stomach.

Note

Avoid white radish. If, after the menstrual cycle has been regulated, menstruation ceases and pregnancy is suspected, discontinue use immediately.
