Pangtu Decoction

Pangtu Decoction,In cases of typhoid fever with rash, body heat, a burning sensation in the chest, thirst with a craving for water, shortness of breath, a dry tongue, and the patient flailing their arms and throwing themselves about; or in cases of heatstroke, with extreme thirst leading to drinking water by the bucketful without stopping, sweating profusely, loud and frenzied shouting, and symptoms worse during the day and milder at night—all these are manifestations of Yang fire.

Drug Formulation

9 qian of Scrophularia root, 2 qian of Cimicifuga root, 4 qian of Scutellaria root, 7 qian of Ophiopogon tuber, 3 qian of Saposhnikovia root, 3 qian of Trichosanthes root, 1 qian of Perilla leaf, 3 qian of Indigo powder, 3 qian of raw licorice root, 9 qian of raw Rehmannia root, and 5 qian of white mulberry bark.
