Drug Formulation

5 liang of white Poria, 2 liang of sweet chrysanthemum flowers, 2 liang of Cornus officinalis, 3 liang of Cuscuta seed (soaked in wine for 3 days, sun-dried, and ground separately into powder), 2 liang of Cistanche deserticola (soaked in wine overnight, wrinkled skin scraped off), 2 liang of Trichosanthes root, 2 liang of Saposhnikovia root (stem removed), 2 liang of prepared Rehmannia root,2 liang of Aconite (roasted until cracked, with skin and pith removed), 2 liang of Peony, 1 liang of Ginseng (with root tip removed), 1 liang of White Atractylodes, 1 liang of Oyster Shell (ground into powder), 2 liang of Astragalus, 1 liang of Purple Aster (washed, stems removed), 2 liang of Acorus,Dendrobium 1 liang (root removed), Cypress Seed 1 sheng, Eucommia Bark 2 liang (coarse bark removed, lightly roasted until pale yellow), Cnidium Seed 1 liang, Polygala Root 2 liang (core removed), Aconite Root 2 liang (cracked by roasting, skin and navel removed), Dried Ginger 2 liang (cracked by roasting), Red Peony Root 2 liang, Achyranthes Root 2 liang (stems removed), Smilax Rhizome 2 liang,Dog’s-spine 2 liang, Xanthium seeds 2 liang, Tiger’s shin bone 1 liang (coated with butter, lightly roasted until pale yellow), Mouse-sticky seeds 1 liang (lightly roasted), Platycodon root 1 liang (with the root tip removed), Notopterygium root 2 liang, Burdock root 2 liang, Goji berries half a liang, Late silkworm sand 3 liang (lightly roasted), Dipsacus root 2 liang.

Processing

Finely chop the ingredients and mix them evenly. Place one jin of the mixture into a raw silk bag and immerse it in 2 dou of wine in a porcelain jar. Seal tightly for 2–7 days, then open the jar.

Instructions for Use

Drink one bowl warm daily at dawn, noon, and late afternoon, maintaining a moderate level of intoxication without overindulgence. After consuming one bowl, immediately refill the vessel with another. If the wine becomes diluted and the medicinal efficacy diminishes, remove the sediment, dry it in the shade, pound it into a fine powder, and mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed. Take 30 pills each time on an empty stomach, washed down with warm wine.

Note

Avoid raw and cold foods, greasy foods, pork, chicken, and slippery or sticky foods.
