Drug Formulation

1 liang of imported anise, 1 liang of Atractylodes macrocephala (roasted), 1 liang of ginseng, 1 liang of Poria cocos, 1 liang of tangerine peel (soaked in hot water, white pith removed),1 liang of Paeonia lactiflora, 1 liang of Platycodon grandiflorus, 1 liang of Aster tataricus (with root base and dust removed), 1 liang of Angelica dahurica (roasted), dried ginger, 5 liang of Atractylodes lancea (peeled), and 1.5 liang of Bupleurum chinense (stems removed).

Instructions for Use

Take 3 qian per dose. Use one pair of pork kidneys (with the umbilical fat membrane removed), slice them thinly, mix 1 qian of salt evenly with the powdered herbs from the above formula, and stuff the mixture into the kidneys. Wrap them in damp paper and roast over a charcoal fire until fragrant and cooked through. Chew thoroughly and wash down with rice water.

Note

Avoid drinking cold water.
