Drug Formulation

1 liang of Angelica sinensis, 1 liang of white Aconite root, 1 liang of red Peony root, 1 liang of white Peony root, 1 liang of Angelica dahurica, 1 liang of raw Rehmannia root, 1 liang of prepared Rehmannia root, 1 liang of Sichuan armadillo shell, 1 liang of toad venom, 1 liang of croton seed,1 liang of castor seeds, 1 liang of Acorus tatarinowii, 1 liang of Atractylodes lancea, 1 liang of Wulingzhi, 1 liang of Dipsacus asper, 1 liang of Cinnamomum cassia, 1 liang of Scrophularia ningpoensis, 1 liang and 2 qian of frankincense, 1 liang and 2 qian of myrrh, 3 qian of musk, 2 liang of genuine asafoetida (thinly sliced as needed).

Processing

Coarsely crush the ingredients. Use 5 jin of sesame oil; set aside the four ingredients mentioned above, and soak the rest in the oil. Soak for 3 days in spring, 5 days in summer, 7 days in fall, and 10 days in winter. After the soaking period is complete, simmer over mulberry wood fire until the herbs are completely dried out, then filter through fine silk to clarify the liquid;For every 1 jin of purified oil, add 12 liang of refined cinnabar. Pour the oil into a pot, add the cinnabar, and stir vigorously with a locust branch. When the ointment is ready, remove the pot from the heat, place it securely in a wooden basin, and gradually add the Asafoetida slices. Once they have completely dissolved, add the frankincense, myrrh, and musk, then stir thoroughly. While still hot, pour the mixture into porcelain jars, dividing it among three containers. When ready for use, it will dissolve instantly in hot water.

Instructions for Use

For epigastric fullness, apply the paste to red satin; for other conditions, apply it to silk or gauze. For swellings, apply directly to the affected area. For nocturnal emissions in men and white vaginal discharge in women, apply to the Dan Tian; for various wind-induced paralysis, applying to the Shenshu acupoint is also effective.
