Drug Formulation

Raw Rehmannia root 16 jin (harvested in the 10th month; plump and large specimens are best; finely sliced), quartz 5 da liang, ash-free clear wine 2 dou.

Processing

Place the quartz in a clay crucible and heat until it glows bright red; add it to the wine, then remove the quartz. Add the rehmannia to the wine and let it soak for 3 days; remove it, dry it in the sun, and return it to the wine, repeating this process until the wine is nearly exhausted, leaving only about 1 sheng of liquid. Pound the rehmannia into a fine powder, mix it with the remaining 1 sheng of wine, and form into pills.

Instructions for Use

Take as needed, twice daily.
