Drug Formulation

3 qian of Atractylodes lancea, 3 liang of apricot kernels, 6 qian of male cloves, 6 qian of Acorus tatarinowii (nine-jointed), 6 qian of Qianjin Frost, 3 qian of musk, 3 qian of camphor, 3 qian of horse-tooth oyster shell, 3 qian of agarwood, 1 liang of toad venom, 1 liang of curcuma,1 liang of Polygonatum, 1 liang of Bile Star, 1 liang of Curcuma zedoaria, 1 liang of Gallnut, 2 liang of Blue Calcined Stone (calcined with vinegar 7 times), 2 liang of Borax, 6 liang of Wild Rheum, 3 liang 4 qian of Tianma, 3 liang 4 qian of Real Reptile Yellow, 1 qian 5 fen of Ox Bile, 5 qian of Red-sprouted Euphorbia.

Processing

Except for musk, ox bile, camphor, and realgar—which are ground separately—grind the remaining ingredients together into a fine powder. Then, add 1 liang 5 qian each of white smilax and mulberry bark, along with 2 liang of alum, decoct them into a concentrated decoction, mix with white wine, and form into pills the size of a rapeseed.

Instructions for Use

Take 7 pills per dose; if no effect is seen, the dose may be doubled. Swallow with plain boiled water. For insect bites, mix the powder with plain water and apply to the affected area.

Note

Avoid greasy and cold foods; pregnant women should not take this formula.
