Drug Formulation

16 liang of Da Fengzi seeds, 16 liang of hemp seeds, 16 liang of camphor, 16 liang of walnut kernels, and 16 liang of Beijing red powder.

Processing

Grind the Chinese windseed kernels, hemp seed kernels, and walnut kernels into a fine paste; grind the Beijing red powder separately. Use 7 liang of beeswax, 13 liang 5 qian of sesame oil, and 1 liang of rosin. First, simmer the sesame oil with rosin; after the wax has melted, remove from heat and strain thoroughly. Add the Chinese windseed kernels, camphor, and other ingredients. Once the Beijing red powder has cooled, add it, mix thoroughly, and pack into bottles weighing 1 liang each.

Instructions for Use

Wrap the medicine in fine cloth. Divide the contents of each bottle into 3–4 portions and apply to the affected area 2–3 times daily, rubbing the solution into the pores until the skin feels a stinging sensation—this indicates the medicine is taking effect. Continue application for 3–5 days. If the skin does not sting, remove the cloth and apply the medicine directly; if the skin stings, discontinue use and resume after one week.
