Three Dragon’s Eye Ointment

Formulas Name : Three Dragon’s Eye Ointment
Chinese Name : 三龙眼膏
Drug Formulation
Half a liang of Magnolia Bark, 2 fen of Gentiana Herba, 1 fen of Tribulus Terrestris, 1.5 fen of Inula Flower, and 2 qian of Epimedium (chopped). Mix the five herbs evenly with half a jin of yellow earth. At the fifth watch, take one bowl of well water and mix it with the yellow earth and herbs to form a paste of appropriate consistency.place the mixture in a shallow bowl, spread it flat with a spoon, and lay 5 white “Kaitong” coins on top. Then arrange 20 pieces of cinnabar, each the size of a mung bean, on top of the coins—placing 4 pieces on each coin. Cover the bowl with another bowl, place it on clean soil, and cover it completely with fresh yellow earth all around and on top, ensuring it is well-ventilated.After 3–4 days and nights, open it to inspect; if a half-cun-long, jade-green substance has formed on the realgar-covered coins, remove them and store them in a separate container. Mylabris (with wings and legs intact), 1 piece of frankincense (the size of a jujube), 3 qian of Qinpi, 3 qian of Coptis chinensis, 3 plump dried jujubes,a handful of lamp wick (7 inches long), and 7 ancient coins (place these 7 ingredients in an oil-free stone vessel; add 1 large bowl of fresh well water and simmer until reduced to half a bowl; filter through cotton into the stone vessel; add another bowl of water to the residue, simmer until reduced to half a bowl, filter out the residue, combine the liquids, and simmer over low-to-medium heat until it becomes a paste, yielding approximately one and a half spoonfuls).

Processing
Place the scraped-off Kongqing and the paste into a new earthenware vessel, add a small amount each of borax powder and borneol, grind them together until uniform, stir well with silver chopsticks, and store in a horn container; it will remain stable for 3–5 years.

Instructions for Use
Apply a quantity the size of a yellow millet grain with a silver chopstick daily; repeat the application the following day. The corneal opacity will naturally wash away with the tears. The application causes no pain. If the vision is slightly blurred, it will be completely cured within 2–3 days.
