Drug Formulation

Bovine Bile (ground) 2.5 qian, Ginseng 1 liang, Southern Amber half a liang, Rhino Horn Shavings (finely ground) half a liang, Platycodon root half a liang, Raw Rehmannia root (sunk in water, ground) half a liang, Realgar (sifted) 2 liang,Chuan Shengma 3 qian, Southern Scrophularia 3 qian, Clam Powder (water-floated) 4 liang, Southern Borax half a liang, Cinnabar (sifted and ground) 7 qian, Lead White Frost 1 qian, Borneol 3 qian, Gold Foil (for coating), and Cold Water Stone (burned red, fire toxicity removed) 3 liang (ground).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix with refined honey to form pills the size of small marbles. Coat with gold leaf and store in a porcelain container.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill per dose, dissolved in a warm decoction of strong peppermint tea, or dissolved in freshly drawn water; take 2–3 times daily after meals. Alternatively, it may be held in the mouth until dissolved and the saliva swallowed.
