Chinese Name : 兑疽膏

Drug Formulation

2 liang of Angelica sinensis, 2 liang of Ligusticum chuanxiong, 2 liang of Angelica dahurica, 2 liang of pine resin, 2 liang of Aconite, 30 seeds of croton (peeled), and 3 sheng of lard.

Processing

Chop the ingredients, add them to the ointment base, and simmer over low heat until it boils three times; then add pine resin until the mixture is well blended.

Benefits

For boils and abscesses.

Instructions for Use

Strain through a cotton cloth to remove the residue; apply the ointment to a piece of cotton wool, shape it into a pointed applicator, and insert it into the abscess according to its depth, three times daily, until all necrotic tissue is removed.

Note

For shallow sores, do not apply the ointment directly into the wound.
