Drug Formulation

Half liang of Da Chuan Aconite (roasted, with skin and pith removed), 3 liang of Wudie Ni, 3 liang of Tian Nanxing, 3 liang of Bai Fuzi (raw), 1 liang of Tianma (soaked in wine, then roasted), 1 liang of whole scorpion (not detoxified, stir-fried with mint leaves), and 7 liang of Banxia.

Processing

Grind each ingredient into a fine powder; for Tiannanxing and Banxia, use the raw form. Place the powders in a silk bag and set it in a porcelain container. Soak in fresh water, then expose to sunlight by day and moonlight by night for three days and nights, changing the water every morning. After three days, remove the bag, dry it in the sun, and grind into a fine powder. Weigh each ingredient according to the specified amounts, mix them thoroughly, and sift through a fine sieve. Add 3 liang of Suhexiang oil; if Suhexiang pills are unavailable, Suhexiang paste may be used instead.If not applied topically, mix with glutinous rice flour to form a thin paste and roll into pills the size of a tung seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 50–70 pills per dose, washed down with ginger tea after meals and before bedtime, twice daily. The medicine should only be air-dried in the shade; do not sun-dry or roast it.
