Processing

Except for the four ingredients—cinnabar, frankincense, Pinellia, and musk—which are ground separately, grind the remaining seven ingredients, including Aquilaria, together into a fine powder;then add cinnabar and musk, mix thoroughly, and grind to a fine powder; finally, mix the frankincense and Pinellia powder with ginger juice to form a thin paste, and blend it with the previous mixture. If the mixture does not bind properly, prepare another thin paste with ginger juice until the consistency is just right—neither too hard nor too soft—and form into pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
