Drug Formulation
1 liang of Astragalus, 1 liang of Aquilaria, 1 liang of Forsythia, 1 liang of Scrophularia, 1 liang of Trichosanthes seed (without the oily shell), 1 liang of Raw Rehmannia, 1 liang of Peach Kernel (without skin or tip), 1 liang of Fangfeng, 1 liang of Chuanxiong, 1 liang of Angelica dahurica,Qianghuo 1 liang, Baji 1 liang, Bailian 1 liang, Jin Yin Hua 1 liang, Castor Seeds 300 (shelled), Burnt Human Hair 1 liang (reduced to ash), Osmanthus Blossoms 5 qian, Five-Spice Lianqiao Decoction 5 qian, Ginseng Detoxifying Powder 5 qian, Fuyuan Tongqi Powder 5 qian, Shiqi Internal Tonifying and Pus-Expelling Powder 5 qian (1 dose).

Processing
Take the 17 ingredients including Astragalus and the 4 herbs from the Five-Spice Forsythia Decoction, coarsely crush them, and place them in an iron pot with 3.5 jin of light vegetable oil. Soak for 5 days, then simmer over low heat until the mixture turns yellowish-black. Add one handful of locust tree branches and one handful of willow twigs, stirring constantly by hand. Filter out the residue using heavy silk,weigh 3 jin of the purified oil. First, roast 1.5 jin of orpiment until black, then add the oil and simmer together over low heat until the mixture is ready—when a drop is placed in water, it should form a bead that does not disperse. Next, add 5 qian of realgar, 5 qian of dragon’s blood, 5 qian of frankincense (ground separately), 5 qian of myrrh, 5 qian of thallium, 5 qian of mercury oxide, 5 qian of dragon bone, and 5 qian of liquidambar resin,1 qian of musk (stir-fried with half a liang of suhe oil), grind into a fine powder, add it to the previous ointment and dissolve it, stir over a thousand times until well blended, then test in water again until the consistency is right—it should be a paste suitable for application. If too firm, add a small amount of vegetable oil; if too soft, add some orpiment, ensuring it is stirred evenly into a paste.

Instructions for Use
For conditions such as spleen-related malnutrition and various masses in children, apply the ointment to paper or scarlet silk according to the hardness and size of the affected area; once the medicinal effect has worn off, the plaster will fall off on its own and should be replaced. For childhood malnutrition, diarrhea, and dysentery, apply to the abdomen; for coughs, apply to the center of the spine, and the illness will be cured.
